Abery was on a coral restoration project when it hit her: the neoprene wetsuit she was wearing to help the ocean was not very good for it. Once retired, it would head to landfill and take years to break down.
But neoprene is still useful. It's tough, weatherproof and built to last. So the question became: how do we extend its use rather than waste it?
That question became Wayve. We collect retired wetsuits in Singapore and give each one the best next life it can have: worn again, upcycled into everyday products, or recycled into Mareon™, a foam made from the neoprene itself. 🌊
